Don Engel….I didn’t want to bring up “that” theory that seems to be the darling of….just about everyone. Glad to hear I’m not alone in not buying into it, and not just because I’m some bloody fundamentalist but because it doesn’t sit right with those commons sense neurons at the back of the brain, and because it seems to me, every time we go ‘out there’ and see something for the first time, the supposed experts are always surprised by what they find, and proclaim it unexpected. Almost every, single, time. I say there is a different explanation (though I’m not expert enough myself to provide a viable one) than the public favorite big bang silliness.

@Lanktree. I agree with everything you said here. The Big Bang is a lot of nonsense, in my uneducated opinion,.I can come up with a better explanation of the universe’s expansion than that..

BTW, Dawkins is a hero of mine….ahem, anyway, Glacial Lake Missoula Montana is what Tom Sarbeck is talking about, that’s a short drive south of my home town of Kalispell. The lake shore lines all around the town of Missoula are so gratifying to see…I find the scientific explanation of nearly everything on Earth falls directly within my own reasoning, evolution makes so much sense, the geologic formation of the surface regions, Chicxulub, all of it. I understood plate tectonics even when continental drift wasn’t widely accepted or believed back in the 60’s has made perfect sense to me. Whilst interested in space and fascinated by many aspects of it, I don’t hold with the popular theories as those….don’t fall in the realm of what makes sense to me so I just stick to what we can see out there and focus more intently on what’s here on our pale blue dot.
