Why Do Atheists Care What Others Believe?

I haven't posted one of these in awhile, and I had a few things on my mind, inspired by questions from a Christian friend who wanted to know why atheists care about what other people believe. So I threw this quick video together. The editing is choppy, but it's Youtube, so... meh... ;-)

@Loren Miller
I guess I could have expanded on theists pushing there religion into government. I have covered that someplace or another, and this video would have been an excellent spot for it (I'm actually in the middle of a debate on my FB page with a gentleman claiming that the establishment clause in the First Amendment was intended to protect Christianity in our country).

I'm new in doing this video stuff and am pretty wet behind the ears in video production. I might look at what I have so far, make some notes and perhaps produce a video that consists of a little more than just me talking (graphics, nifty effects, etc).

Hey, Mike

I think you missed the single biggest reason regarding why we need to speak out: people who believe as theists do will sometimes attempt to push their beliefs onto the government. Some of them even run for office. Witness Rick Santorum and his stance on abortion, birth control and women's rights. From my point of view and that of many others, both theist and atheist, his position is extreme, and I have no doubt whatsoever that, were he elected to the presidency, he would at least attempt to codify his beliefs into US law.

I suppose you could say that this is an extension of the church / state separation argument. I just feel as though it needs further emphasis. Still, having one more voice on our side of the ledger doesn't hurt - thanks!
