Very pleased you found some meaning in the video, Bryan. Some would not appreciate the language both Muir and Whitman utilize, yet, somehow, the deeper meanings remain. I suppose this is true especially for those of us who are comfortable, or at least content, in our non-theistic understandings that do not have to get agitated about any hint of the old museum language. Anyway, your dad sounds like someone whose memory will flow like a river for a very long time. Peace on your greening paths.

Wonderful presentation, Chris. I lost my father ten years ago yesterday, and the poetry and images you've presented he would have appreciated so much. He appreciated the immanent glory of nature from his work and in his beliefs, and I tried to express this facet of his at his memorial service back in the day. Thanks so much.

I've read and written and taught Muir and Whitman for quite some time. As non-theists we need not be too put off by some of the old language they use (god, soul, divine, creation). Their great genius and creativity was the ability to use the old terms for radically new experiences directly with Nature. They did not worship Nature. They "gloried" in it.
