Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here in forever. I watched Penn's video on Big Think called An Atheists Guide to the 2012 (or something similar) and he said something that made sense. Christianity in America is in it's death throes which is why it has become so outspoken in the last few decades. He talked about how in the sixties no politician really talked about their religion because it would end their career. People weren't Christians back then they were baptists, catholics, lutherans, etc. They have only recently started to band together under the Christian flag as a united group. Maybe they see their end is nigh and I can only hope that they don't drag us down with them.
