"Steve Sall was an avid outdoorsman before he was stricken with Lou Gehrig's disease.
As death neared, he chose a "green" burial. These burials are a small but growing industry. With these burials, people chose to be laid to rest in the most natural way possible - no concrete, vaulted coffins or chemicals. Just the body and the earth."
The above description is from the website naturalburial.com. Even though none of us is around to wee what happens to our bodies, it matters to me. Be it known, this is the kind of burial I want. No formaldehyde, no steel, no concrete, no bronze, no paint.

I think of the cost as supporting a nature preserve. If anyone comes to visit me and dwell on my life with them, it will be a beautiful place to do that. Each to his own. To be composted and used for tomato fertilizer would be OK too, but that's not for everyone.

I don't need a forest burial either. It's probably expensive. I will make do with being processed into dry garden fertilizer. It will achieve the same result and the view could be just as good.
