I'm amused that some think this is inappropriate for the child actress to be saying. She did a superb job, and kids do understand a lot more than we give them credit for. (As Christopher stated)
This is brilliant. And as Nate pointed out, there is nothing here to scar the young girl. Try having death destruction and sadism crammed into your brain at least weekly for all your young life. This is wonderful!
Glad you posted it!

Abuse? What about the message that the little actress recited has the potential to traumatize her later in life? Was she reading scriptures about Jehovah turning his enemies to manure and spreading them out upon the surface of the entire earth? Was she recounting a story about children being mauled by a bear as retribution for making fun of the appearance of one of Jehovah's prophets?

This girl is an actress. This is a commercial for a band called "The Bastard Fairies." While I'm not sure I approve of using a young girl for this message, it's a great message and this girl might be old enough to understand it. I have three young children (two 8 year old boys and a 12 year old daughter) who understand this message and enjoyed the video when it came out. I'd have let them make this video if they clearly understood that it was acting and that the points of the message are all good ones.

I think it is somewhat humorous (because it is irreverant) but I agree with the others: we should not suppose that this little girl thought this up herself. She was put up to it, and I can't imagine why. It seems silly to use kids in this manner.

I can't believe I am agreeing with O'Reily, but this is abuse. The difference is that he wouldn't consider religious indoctrination abuse.

This is exploitation. Is it any different than a child reciting religious or patriotic dogma? No. In all cases the children are being indoctrinated and used. However, the religious right, when they come after these people, will have to realize that their use of children for propaganda purposes will also be subject to the same legal, social, and political ramifications.

Signing Atheists

I was going to set up a group for Deaf Atheists, but figured I'd probably be alone in here if I did that so I figured I'd open it to anyone who knows sign language or even interested in learning it.
