I am on active duty, and frankly this behavior disgusts me to the core!! Only now has the Army confiscated and burned the bables after a documentary think that was aired. What a shame, I don't think chaplains should even be on military payroll.

Yes, they should be discharged and yes they should have to apologize. They know this is against the rules and should be punished accordingly, but none of that will probably ever happen. The military (as long as I've been in) has been a haven for these amoral zealots, and it's unlikely to ever change.
In fact in my neck of the woods (Military Intelligence) it's a well known fact that Mormons join to learn a language specifically for missionary work, an action I find particularly disgusting.
It's my guess that these fanatics will be allowed (if not encouraged) to spread their particular "mind virus" to whatever combat zone they should find themselves in, in the future.

I agree with you all. In their zeal to "save" the world, one soul at a time, these soldiers are failing to see the big picture. There is a reason the rule is not to prosthelytize. The risk is too great to allow this type of behavior.
What should be done? Should they truly be discharged as EVOLUTION101 suggests? Should they have to formally apologize as well?
