I meant he was doing well at staying calm and courteous until the
"punch your fat face" remark.lol

This caller is also playing the game called :"Yes but." Notice how he keeps doing the "Yes but" to virtually everything he says.

A "leap of faith"....WHY would this be a leap of faith? We have no faith...Don't you love how they turn a phrase.

I thought he handled it well and I understand your concern about the moral certainty issue but it seems like Matt was more concerned about making sure the caller understood about atheism

I think Matt handled the call very well. The only thing that I would add is a comment about the caller's strange phrase, of knowing that there is not a god "to a moral certainty." I presume that this phrase is tied in to the belief that a god is needed in order for objective ethical values and obligations to exist. I would respond that ethical values and obliations are the basis of social morality, and is not social morality too important to leave to something as indeterminable and unlikely as a god? But the critical point is that "absolute certainty," as Matt stated, is a red herring.

I love Atheist Experience. I actually found myself quoting Matt when arguing god with my wife. As lame as many of the theist callers' arguments are, I love educating myself with the hosts' replies and strageties (and they are the arguments we keep butting up against).
