Comment by Alice on December 27, 2011 at 6:22pm yes - I think that was a few years ago - when they allowed prests to fill the role of counsellors in schools - I think it was about taking advantage of the free service they provided - as opposed to paying a proffessional counsellor to service the students - also it was brought in by John Howards government, who seem mainly christian - on the down side they lack training specific to counselling children; on the up side they are free and they are prohibited from preaching in their role as counsellor.
It is ridiculous and irrisponsible - I'm lucky in that my children don't have a religious counsellor - they have me :)

Comment by Alice on December 27, 2011 at 5:02pm I would love to attend this - but I really don't think I have the money to get over there....
Discrimination is a problem.... coming out as an athiest in England wasn't an issue - as most people seem to be atheists also - or unsure themselves about their own beliefs - but all the same open to different beliefs.
Australia is different - people don't seem as confident to express their views and tend to avoid the issues - in my experience of course.
