Haven't watched the video, but here's a couple thoughts:

  • Being with the majority is almost always easier than being with ANY minority, especially a controversial minority
  • Group-think is far easier than individual-think, because with the first, there is almost always a single person or a small group doing the thinking for the rest, who get to coast.
  • Belief is easy.  Knowing, which means doing the leg-work and the brain-work and understanding, is a LOT harder.
  • Being outspoken about a controversial issue, again especially when it's a minority view, and standing up for that view when people want you to shut up and go away, is both harder and more dangerous.

I invite the schmuck in the video to walk a mile in an atheist's shoes before he presumes to hold forth on whose lot is the more difficult.
