"Why are you angry with god?" is among the most clichéd and superficial of the christian accusations aimed at non-believers.  That they have the balls to use it in a pandering movie such as this one is indicative of its overall inanity and the near-certain fact that it is purely aimed at preaching to the choir.  Substitute Daniel Dennett for Kevin Sorbo as a philosophy professor and not only would you have someone who actually understands the philosophical dynamic of atheism, but a grounding in reality which this movie is in no ways interested in entertaining.

The movie is a one-sided polemic, plain and simple.

God is not dead because he was never alive! Science supports his existence as in "intelligent design." Not in my lifetime. Add gravity to intelligent design and then you start to understand something. Bodily waste of every kind exits our bodies the way it does because of gravity. The nearest way out of our main organs is in close relation to the nearest way in (as in procreation) simply because of gravity. Evolution has seen fit that you will not be urinating through your leg because that apendage has another function. Such things are just common sense, but not to the christian.

Intelligent design supports the existence of god, the christians say, and they hang onto it and apply it to their bible even when that false ancient book has been dis-proven as having anything to do with god or human origin. One might as well use their printer to prove the existence of their computer.

And speaking of the computer, I would say this machine and the internet of information it brings to everyone instantly is the real reason that belief in god is dropping off today. Anything can be researched or looked up quickly and an intelligent person can prove the accuracy of it.

Back to the movie trailer briefly, the student keeps on asking Sorbo's character "why are you angry with god?" It's interesting that the christians would put this into a movie. It assumes that belief in god is a given. They do this every time.

Personally, I'm angry with god because he didn't give me a pony.

"Science supports his existence?!?"  [this from the "God's Not Dead" flick]  Sounds like something I would expect from William Lane Craig - a bullshit statement without any serious substantiation.  This doesn't even mention Kevin Sorbo's character, who is a straw man atheist if I ever saw one.

As for Strobel, Lewis, McDowell et al, A|N member Steve Shives has thoroughly dismantled each of their works with his "An Atheist Reads" series on YouTube.  What "God's Not Dead" is doing is yet one more repeat of failed arguments and assertions without corroboration, which has been the apologist's stock in trade ever since the concept of christian apology was invented.

It was lame then.  It's lame now.  It continues to be LAME.
