I thought Europe already out educated U.S. pupils.

Use it as material to lobby your local school board. Europe is going to out-educate our pupils. ;-)

That was a good show about the Dover case. I was alluding that because of this case and the demand to teach religion that many schools have simply opted out of teaching science all together. I have no evidence for this although I know a 13 year old who is in 8th grade and he just began to learn what he calls earth science - geology and etc. This is the first science class he has ever had. Science education should start in kindergarden.

Well I don't know if there's an official statistics on that, but it's certainly a matter of incongruency for the nation who took us to the moon and back.

There's that famous graph showing the U.S 39th our of 40 with 40% not accepting the evidence for evolution, putting you just above Turkey - an Islamic country, albeit allegedly secular - with a rampant problem of Islamic fundamentalism when it comes to denial of Science (It's the haunting ground of Harun Yahya who put of the now legendary "fishing lure" book Atlas of Creation

Here it is

A companion piece to this is PBS's NOVA: "Intelligent Design On Trial." It runs not quite two hours and is nothing short of EXCELLENT.

How much dumber is the U.S. because of the hold Christianity has on education? Because of the creation myth and fear of Christian backlash for teaching science it seems as though science just isn't taught.
