Comment by Jonathan Simeone on April 29, 2012 at 12:36am I'll have to read up on these. Thanks for passing the information on. I'd like to find a solution to this life-long problem of mine.
I've tried Magnolia Bark and it's helped me. Valerian Root is also supposed to be a calming herb.
I'm a night owl myself. I'm not so good in the morning ... though I might be up. Sometimes I feel like I am still asleep.
Comment by Jonathan Simeone on April 28, 2012 at 7:53pm I've tried melatonin before but it doesn't work very well for me. Some blind people I know really say it helps but I guess I'm always going to be a night person.
Comment by Jonathan Simeone on April 28, 2012 at 3:37pm Hi Steph, Insomnia is way more common among blind people than it is in sighted people. Most people believe it stems from the fact that our circadian rhythm is not affected by light cycles the way sighted people's is. I've tried many different things but I just have never been able to stick with a regular sleep cycle for very long.
That happens to me sometimes too.
