Top industries all depend on externalities

None of the world’s top industries would be profitable if they paid for the natural capital they useNone of our most profitable industries are actually profitable at all without ripping off the environment. How sick is that! The notion of “externalities” ... refers to costs imposed by businesses that are not paid for by those…See More

Poo Fools (us all)

Day after day I see Atheist Nexus members argue scripture details, spreading theistic memes here, without realizing their self-betrayal. Memetics still seems, to most, an abstract intellectual debate. We can't grasp religion as an infective agent. We can't see ourselves as merely copying machines for viruses.…

Hi RUth,

NOt wanting to join another group just to comment....  but your post on corporatized medicine is completely accurate.  From someone who is there.  My employer is supposedly not-for-profit but the descriptions are the same.  Computerized micromanagement.... arrrgghhhh.

Not aware that I can do anything about it.

Hi Ruth,

I am doing some personal "house cleaning", some of which involves online activities.  One thing is groups that I started and have not been involved in for a while.  Since you welcome people, I wanted to ask if you want role of coadministrator in the welcome group, along with Steph.  That gives you access to change settings.  If you would like that, just let me know and I will do that.  Thanks.

Hi Ruth, I gotta tell you, that picture's narrative was killer, that is, the one on the Trekkie's  club page, where the alien with the goofy hat, although I thought stylish, replies to Sisko," I've never even seen the Sydney Opera House". U and I have more than a couple of things in common. Both Trekkie's, both 60+, and, my Mom's name was also, "Ruth". I just thought it wise to leave a comment on your wall. That was your posting, was it not? I don't know about u, and, I hate to say, but, I, get a bit "spacey" sometimes. Guess I'm in the right place on the Star Trek page! Life is so crazy,..I PAID to get spacey in the sixties ! Now,.. it's a freebie ! What luck !

Thanks for your input on my "situation". I get plenty of Vit D in the summer from sunshine, for sure. Winter time, not so much. I do take a multi-vitamin. I should be thankful for being thin and in good health, right?!

Ruth: I AM an interesting guy! I have read and researched "tons" of information on my "problem" of weight gain in the form of muscle, not fat. Tried them all. Little success. Like I've said before, it must be genetic. At age 70, I give up. My goal is just to keep fit and strong. Not going to "kill myself" trying to build biceps. Whom I trying to impress? I'll just have to be satisfied with what I have, right?! Thanks for the comment.

Ruth, I have already and will pursue further as well. We just opened up an Atheist Hub/club house and Iwas thinking of doing a TI there, as people were interested. But, now I am thinking if TI is so Theistic, then perhaps the Atheist community would be wise in developing its own Public Speaking Education program. Ruth, thanks for the reply and best week end.
