Joan, it was my pleasure to let you know about the video.  If atheism, and indeed, if this country has a future, it is in the person of Zack Kopplin and young people like him.

Hi, Joan!

Here is a link to the video I referred to: the interview of Zack Kopplin by Bill Moyers.  This kid is beyond sharp!

Please enjoy

You asked me if my kids had questions about my atheism. In a word, no. I have "bumper stickers" on my back door and "atheisms" on my fridge for all to read. I don't bring the subject up. My life and actions speak for themselves. My 4 yr old grandson has dropped the "god" word in my presence. That's thanks to his grandmother, my ex, the religious kook. Nothing I can do about it--at least not yet.

I honestly don't where you find the time to comment on so many things! But thanks for your response to my post, "I Fired God". My four children have had to deal with divorced parents--one, an atheist, the other, ultra religious. It's a subject that never comes up.

Interesting (about Sagen). Another "hero" shot down. Jesus was my hero when I was a child. He went by the wayside long ago. Who's next?

Hi Joan, Thanks for the Welcome note and encouragement. I'm very lucky to have such sweet kids. I can't even imagine sharing them with someone else. Single parenting works well for me and I think i'm doing a pretty good job so far. They're only 10 though, the teen years are right around the corner. lol

Hi Joan,   If you look really closely at my avatar you'll see it's a dragon on a planet in outer space.  Anyway, that's what I posted.  Somehow, there would be no need for me to pretend I'm female when I'm actually male.  Sorry to see you got confused!  You are atheistically forgiven!  LOL

The Daily Kos had a rather interesting side-by between Reagan and Obama today.  Thought you'd like to see it.

Thanks for u welcome notice to me.Somewhere u wrote, LIKE ANT CLIMBING A GRASS NOT KNOWING WHY...You know what? u have just reminded me of the book i just finished reading, breaking the spell by D Dennet. in the very beggining of the 1st chapter he starts by explaining that  very phenomenon, why does it do it again and again and again..?
ooh it has been invaded by a virus that drives it to be in a position to be eaten by a cow so that that virus can reproduce inside cows entrails..!
cui bono? for whose benefit? it is not for that ant, but the invading virus..!
Thanks for u welcome advise

So glad to read you're doing well. Good health is a blessing. My only "aches" come from arthritis in my hands and ankle (one). But I don't let that stop me from "doing my thing". It hurts to walk, grip, play piano, etc. That's nothing compared to what others have to deal with, so I'm not complaining.

I really don't mind these winter days. I read, exercise, listen to music (classical), do computer stuff, work puzzles, and take a nap or two! As I have in the past 4 years, I'm spending two weeks in Mexico Beach, FL for a "getaway" and a little sun. Lots of walking there, too. It's a nice, quiet community--a refreshing change from my daily environment and routines. I'll be leaving in 3 days, so if you don't hear from me, don't be alarmed.

Be well and take care.
