Greetings, Laurie! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Laurie,
Are you acquainted with Gulf Coast Research Lab? I don't know what they do but an employee is the secretary of my local American Chemical Society chapter.

Well you were close, once. I have to admit I don't get to Sacramento much. And then we are bypassing it as fast as possible on our way to the Sierras. I'll let you know when to wave. :-)

Hi Laurie.

I am another ex-pat (Aussie) who is sick of not being disenfranchised everywhere.

I see you are a semi-neighbour now.

Ah well, it wasn't a time of much availability for me, either. I did manage to get my car mostly working, though I also found a coolant leak so it won't be making any long distance trips until I can sort that out!

I also had to go in the sea again, which ate a day or so. Anyway if you do come back in June I should still be around Southampton, and could well say hello!

With regard to last weeks events..... phew. Looks like you all dodged a bullet there.

As for blogs/memes, I've got a bit behind with my internet, and I need to find time to catch up with it all, but I should be able to get that done soon!

Hopefully.

Hi Laurie,

I'm not going anywhere for the next couple of weeks, I've got jury service for two weeks and my car is quite ill and I'm having trouble tracking down the cause of the infection. It's been acting up for a while and I was living with it, but now I've decided to sort it out once and for all, but everything I do seems to make it worse or at very least have no beneficial effect :-(

Anyway, it you happen to be in the Southampton area or if I get the car running properly... well then we might be able to sort something out! Let me know what you're up to.

The break-in was pretty annoying, luckily it was just the sheds, and luckily I keep all of my diving equipment in the house. Still, I lost my mountain bike, which the insurance company refuse to cover under student possessions. It also seems like they're trying to wriggle out of paying out anything to my housemate (he lost a lot more stuff) on the grounds that their policy doesn't cover garages/sheds. Arggg.

Anyway, better dash, the Atheist Society is showing the Life of Brian tonight and since my car's not running I'm going to have to walk there in the rain.

Hi, Laurie
In Australia the name Laurence and its diminutive Laurie is fairly common and is confined almost exclusively to males. Females usually take Lauren or Laura. However, I understand that globally Laurie is a male or female name.
Best wishes,
Laurence

Trust me. There are worse songs to have stuck in your head than the theme song to HR Puff "n" Stuff. Today for me it was Happy Talk form South Pacific. Thanks for the welcome.

Someone told me the custom is to reply in the other person's profile, so I guess that's what I'll do.

*bangs head on wall* I knew that they were viviparous! . I'm not sure if Kevin(a) is too young to sex, but I'll try taking a picture and seeing if I can sex him/her.

I'll check out your blog tomorrow, I'm a bit tired now :)

Not too sure how this works... am I supposed to reply to your comments in my page, or in your page? Well, I'll do it in both this time :)

That sounds interesting... let me guess, well-fed fish reproduced more? Hmm... but some species also reproduce when times are tough, but I don't think mosquitofish eggs are all that tough, so I'm sticking with my hypothesis. As for the photoperiod, I would think that increasing it would help reproduction but I don't really know. Anyway, this copperhead was my very first. I've wanted to see one for years, going out to parks and stuff to look, but I finally find one in a parking lot. Go figure :)
