Hello Lindsey. I'm another who got sorted out young from the god freak business. Welcome to this rational world of Internet atheism---- far from the superstitions and fictional god of the masses.

Cool, so you got the whole religion thing sorted out in your single digits as well, huh?  I've tried to trace back my thoughts to that age and figure out what the influences were.  I hadn't really thought much about my early exposure to Greek and Norse mythology, before.  That may have had an impact, as well.

I've mostly thanked the children's science books my parents purchased for my older brother (and which I was reading before kindergarten), the fairytales I was read as a child, and my frequent watching of stage magic and illusions as a little child.  By the time I got to Sunday school at church, I couldn't believe the stories they told us any more than I could the fairytales, and I had already seen much more magical things on TV.

I specifically remember the stories about Noah and about the burning bush.  My mind rejected them as fiction, even at the age of 5 or 6, in kindergarten CCD.

I like your thought processes in your breaking away, much more.  Far more analytical.  :-)

Wow, atheist since 1996?  What age would that put you at, when you came upon your atheistic realization?  You don't look like you're at the upper end of that 22 - 30 range, unless your main profile photo is a few years old or something.

I can place memories of intense skepticism of religion at a very young age, in my case, but it was quite a while later that I had any coherent statement of atheism.
