Your "about me" section is rather modest given all the accomplishments I know you could list. Yes, this is going to be a complimentary post; I hope you do not tire of the accolades that are sent your way. You are deserving. I've been listening to the "Atheist Experience" and the "Non-Prophets" for a couple of years now via podcasts, although I'm always behind! For me, they have been a voice of reason and accompaniment as I navigate a religious and Christian saturated society. Truly, you are the poster child for atheist elocution.
Matt thanks for your show on youtube. I let my son (9) watch 1 and he wanted to watch more and more. As we listened he had me pause it we dialogued openly. He goes to an adventist school. (next year he will be in public) The only big issue I have had is a grammer sheet came home the teacher crossed out million re; dinosaurs and she wrote in thousands. I brought in my time life kids almanac and said save it for bible class. I told her she has to realize kids have access to discovery, history, pbs, tlc, sooner or later they will realize they were lied to by their sweet teacher.
thanks again!!!! and others on the show
Hi Matt, I think both of your shows are great. The Nonprophets is great in a laid back informal way, and the Atheist experience is very informative. Keep up the rants. Just wrote my first letter to the editor over a Christian attacking Atheism with all the usual fallacies and would like to say a fair bit of you was in the letter, Hopefully get printed.
Cheers from New Zealand
"A bananna fits up your butt." Great stuff ! Think that'll be my new bumper sticker. I check out your FFreethinker site at least once per day. Your show is quite entertaining and thought-provoking (Bet you've never heard that before :).
Have you had any offers from the 'mainstream" media?
Y'know , if Air America had had a few people like you and Infidelguy maybe they'd have more stations.
Hello from Miami!!! I've called in once, new listener but have probably listened to over a hundred of your shows through iTunes in the last 2 months or so! I love the show, and the Non Prophets is by far one of the best discussion podcasts I listen to. Keep up the great work! from a big fan from Miami!
Matt, I've got a story for you. I know, I know, just what you needed. I'm always on the lookout for an example of how Buddhism isn't all lotus flowers and incense, and this one is a pretty horrific case of child abuse. Sorry if this is the 85th time you've been sent this piece already(and that you'll have to cut and paste), but here it is:
