Yes, now that I'm going into college, I think I'm going to make best-friends with caffeine.

If I can avoid Texas, I will. But if I end up with a good job there, at least I have an uncle who lives down there. And, I'm a recluse, so I wouldn't have to deal with it too much.

Bioware is in Canada, I believe.

The "objectification" doesn't really matter to me from a female's perspective. I guess I never really viewed it as that, I just thought it was funny that a bikini protected my from the dragon better than the plate mail.

As you can see, I drew Lightning and use her as my profile image everywhere, and she's not too bad, but her legs are just a bi showy. Now, coming from a gay perspective, I can totally see why men in the industry do this; I guess that's why it doesn't bother me - men are the people who play games for the most part, so made by men for men. Whatever floats their boat! I'll just sit in the closet and enjoy.

Ha ha, yes. Although, I've never tried any of the "three official bans".

There's not much going on in Utah in terms of game development, but there are some, probably indie, groups and we have some branch of EA in Salt Lake City. In all honesty, I'm probably going to move somewhere else as soon as I can. If my dream came true (if it's at all what I think it is) I would be working for Bioware. They make all of the best games in my opinion.

Fiction really, although if I go get my PhD, I'll probably have to focus on non-fiction.

Misery Chick is a reference to Daria.  It's what they called her when she acted as a realist and rationalist in one episode.

I love Tool as well, they are very skilled :)

Yeah I don't really care what someones religious beliefs are as long as they don't try to preach or convert me. I currently have one of my dads friends trying to 'save' me :/

My dad is agnostic actually, I am quite lucky that way because my family never pushed me into religion. My dad took me to church sometimes as a child to introduce me to religion and then let me make my own choice. I remember the only reason that I ever wanted to go to church was that we went out to breakfast first.

I listen to the older British metal bands more, such as Iron Maiden yeah.^.^

I like Disturbed as well, I listen to some hard rock :)

I'm not a fan of country, gospel, or rap either.

I'm mostly into PC horror games, but I also play some of the classic Nintendo games ^.^

Hi! Late reply hahaha. School has kept me busy so far.

I agree, Spanish is extremely important in this country. It kind of feels good that I'm able to understand more people and I can serve as a translator for people who can't speak English.

I'm not sure what's up with the Nazarene churches either. They're kind of conservative from what I remember.

I had a pretty funny encounter at a Catholic church three years ago. My cousin was getting married. I was sitting in the middle next to the wall next to my sister. We honestly couldn't stop laughing at all the silly rituals and the altar boys. The priest's voice had a singing tone and we kept making fun of it while he was giving mass. I don't know how we didn't get kicked out hahaha!

I think its pretty cool you write songs :) Any specific type of music?

It is kinda strange that I am in California and don't have atheist friends but I live up in north California and its pretty country and mostly older people in my town. My best friend is a christian so I can't really talk with her about religion. Of course its most likely more liberal in south California by Hollywood.

I mostly listen to British metal, thrash metal, and industrial metal. ^.^

What kind of music do you listen to?

Most likely, infact you will find that most of the Caribbean is that way. Jamaica, Haiti etc. And I travel to the US allot too so, I'm not really sure which would be the best.. So far I think the northern states like New York are better. I would like to move to Canada but for someone who grew up in constant heat, I'm a big wuss when it comes to the cold and snow! lol

No apologies needed. My week has been pretty crazy too. Actually pretty crazy is an understatement. I haven't even been back on here. Ugh.

Yeah, my family is a bit crazy, but that's a long story. JWs don’t provide any serious education. They have a two week “pioneer school” for people who have just completed their first year in full time preaching. Yes, I am the product of pioneer school. They also have a program they call Gilead, to prepare people to be missionaries in other lands. I think Gilead lasts a few months, enough to get the basics of a new language. Other than that, there’s elder’s school. I never would have qualified for elders school for gender reasons :) In reality, JWs expect every member to preach, although they recognize that not everyone will preach full time. They strongly push everyone to make time for full time service when possible, but they know that people need to eat. They do frequently remind members of the scripture that says “having sustenance and covering, be content with these things”, with the advice being that members should put service to god above materialism. There’s really not enough room here to explain just how far they’ve gone with this.

I can’t say going to school despite my parents says too much about my character. I didn’t go back to school till I was 29, and then it was absolutely necessary, because I knew I would be leaving my husband, and I couldn’t afford to raise my son on a minimum wage job. Your joke about wives being slaves was maybe a slight exaggeration, but still, amongst JWs wives were to be obedient to their husbands, and my husband complained that I wasn’t “submissive enough”. Yuck! By their standards, he’s right. By my standards, why the hell should I be submissive at all?!?!?! That just didn’t settle well with me. It was what I had been taught to believe was right, and I felt guilty for not being a “good enough” wife, but I still couldn’t be his servant. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a servant, but servants are not members of the families they serve…

I really don’t know what happened in Salem, except that people used fear to justify the murder of innocent people. I don’t understand how anyone could do something like that. I have a bad habit of imagining being a person in a story like that, but I can’t even imagine what would be going through the head of someone who coolly sends someone to death, on such ridiculous pretenses.

I hope your week was good. Three day weekend! Yay! I'm still contemplating a trip to San Francisco tomorrow. I love the city, and even though it's a bit of a drive, there's an amazing pizza place that I haven't been to since January. Mmmmmmmm.
