I would stop short of calling all of it a "fraud".
It was in the past (and still to some primitive cultures) a psychologically necessary device to explain there world in the absence of real scientific fact.
The real fraud comes in when, in this 21st century of scientific knowledge, those that perpetuate the phantasy despite our clear evidence of our scientific knowledge and ask for money from duped people to keep perpetuating it.
This is the real fraud that I am opposed to.
As rational thinking humans we should never forget the lessons about how to treat each other that we have learned from these religions.
Taking the good but rejecting the phantasy world.
We must remain humaine with each other. Compassion, truth, fairness, etc..are the way we must approach the people that we seek to teach.
I am not about to "hit someone over the head" (like they do) with my views to try to "wake them" from there delusions and phantasys. Its not up to us, you, or anyone else to try to wake them. They have to wake themselves and as long as we keep our humanity, patience, compassion, truthfulness, fairness etc.. we can and will be as effective as we can be.
They are not "unfortunate" believers. they are mearley uneducated and choosing to remain so.
We cant beat people over the head and expect them to change. If those we try to teach are unresponsive we need to just wipe the schit of our shoes, walk to the next town and see who is ready to take that "leap of fact", live our lives in humanity, patience, compassion, truthfulness, fairness etc..and therefore be an example to the rest of the world.
sorry for the rant.
I actually used to be an ordained minister in several religions before I realized how out dated the concept of religion is in the face of science and I tent to be a little "preachy" sometimes.

Wonderful, the introduction you have presented in your profile. Welcome to this superb site and its bright people worldwide like you who recognise religion for what it is---nothing but a giant fraud, and gods mere fictions inside the heads of unfortunate believers.
