Randall, Yes, I guess I do respond to a lot of discussions and comments. I spend the mornings read and writing mail. I got into such a nice habit of doing nothing useful, I simply can't or won't break the patterns. I love my afternoon naps, and will hang on to them as long as I can. With spring arriving, I will be outside more. I'm beginning to assemble the seed starter stuff and that begins in Feb/March. I feel great! no pain anywhere, all scabs have fallen off, no gastro upsets. I get a cancer chemo of Herceptin every three weeks and that is a piece of cake compared to what the heavy doses were. Just a little weary, but heck! that is OK.
How are you joints, muscles, and attitude holding up through the winter? Have any cabin fever? Do you keep yourself busy, one way or the other?
I was young when I saw that movie, Randall. "Birdman" was long and drawn out, and for a young kid it was a "nothing" movie. I've always used it as an example of being re-vamped into a sci-fi to make it watchable. Not many people understand the humor the way you did. Thanks.
Yeah I meant the act of going to church, not religion. It's generally religion, the actual beliefs and harmful practices, that get the bashing (and for good reason). I've heard atheist churches getting bashed...
I'll gladly stipulate the whole "Hell's Angels" scenario, though I can't see that happening very often, or at least not with me. I don't go to church; I have zero use for them, with the possible exception of when my daughter gets married (still sorting that out). For the large portion, however, I have no problem identifying myself as an atheist and don't care who knows it.
Sure, I use common sense. I also prefer NOT to back down.
Tend my grandkids. lol Or they tend me. I was tending my mom till she passed recently. It was a good thing, though I miss her. And I tend my two dogs. If I tired real hard I could probably be a bar-tender. If I had a bar that is.
I wish I could hide out till this debt ceiling thing is resolved. I'm tempted to turn the news off till I get an all clear signal from...someplace. If you're in In we're almost neighbors. I've not met anyone from ky on here yet. Several from In. Ky is more religious then In I think.
Sorry you didn't find romance. But glad you had a great trip! Travel to another place, culture, and history can be incredible.
I forget if I said it. When I was a young soldier in the 70s I was stationed for 18 months in Turkey. For most everyone else, it was a hardship tour. For me it was an adventure. Changed my life. If a trip like yours can give you new perspectives, then it's worthwhile.
Coincidentally, I'll be off line for a couple of weeks, starting Saturday. Trip to China. My in-laws live there and it's time for a visit. For me it's a chance to depressurize and let others be in charge, and go with the flow. Also I've been in the mood for some Chinese food.....
