Oh, I'll definitely be making use of social media, as a tool for promotion and recognition. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and that sort of thing. There's a difference between that and being personally involved with those resources, though. I'll start posting video clips and stuff when I feel my delivery is clean enough to record a few. I'm still working on that.
I might get more involved with it when I can leave the network engineering job behind. Right now, between the 9-5 job and my side-projects, I don't have the time to get involved with Facebook. It would be something to do while traveling the country, between gigs. Having that freedom would change a few things.
I'd probably do a lot of what you do, in that kind of situation. I poke around the edges. When in doubt, go Socratic on them. Ask questions ... lots of questions. Expose how everything they say is just a bunch of bald assertions, and if you think into it even a bit, it just falls to pieces.
I just haven't got the free time right now. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive, so I sink into things like that, if I don't cut myself off completely. In a forum as vast as Facebook, I'd totally submerge myself and never get out of my day job.
Hello, my poor fellow Alabamian. At least you live in one of the better areas, though. I hear the North Alabama Freethought Association is really active. You should check them out, assuming you haven't already.
Heh, wow. Three in one family? My mother did that with her middle name, passing it on to one of my sisters. Three seems a little excessive, though. It's a decent combiner, though. I guess if it works, do it to extremes.
I haven't really talked with my aunt, the nun, about religion. I'm out of the closet with everyone I know, but she lives in New York State somewhere. I don't have a lot of contact with her, so the subject has never come up.
It'll probably become a bit more of an issue, if i can get to the point of touring nationwide, with my standup comedy. The nun aunt is near New York City, and most of the rest of my extended family is in the Chicago area. Those will both be major stops for me, and I talk a lot about religion, in my material.
I'll have no problems bringing it up, when I reconnect with the rest of my extended family. I just wouldn't want to have to deal with it on a daily basis, like I'm sure I would have to, if i was on Facebook.
I've thought about picking up an account a couple times, but I dunno.
No worries. I know how it is. So much stuff out there to keep track of. So, you're back and looking around the site, huh?
I stay off of most social sites, myself. The last thing I need is to be dragged into all of the family nonsense. A lot of my family is very Catholic, including my one aunt, the nun. My political and social activities would keep me busy responding to them on my wall. Easier to just stay off of Facebook.

My pleasure. Enjoy!
No worries - better late than never, I say. =) Hope your week is a good one...

Good middle name, by the way. ^.^

Kelsey, Thank you for the note. You are truly welcome. Terry
Welcome aboard! =) Hope you're doing well today...
Wow, yeah, Alabama is a rough place. Could be worse. You could be in Mississippi. They don't even have the few decent-sized cities that Alamaba has.
Welcome, Kelsey! Glad you could join us. :D
