Thanks for the welcome to the DNA fangroup, I've been a long-time fan of the Hitchhiker's trilogy as well as the Dirk Gentley books. My favorite Adams work is actually the Radio Script version of Hitchhiker's. I'm sure my early exposure to DNA's books are what helped shaped my rather skewed take on the world.
Unfortunately, I only get to work outside the asylum, and even that's only a part time gig. I keep trying to convince Wonko to let me live outside with him, but I guess I still have too much to learn. So I think I'll fit in fine. :) Thanks for the invite and welcome!
Just visited your web page. Pretty cool! I'm afraid I never went beyond my instrument rating (pre-GPS!) and that was 25 years ago. Haven't flown since (at least not PIC.) I guess I just wanted prove to myself I could do it. Thanks for doing such a good job for us. Keep the faith! (Well, you know what I mean.)
I didn't know anyone listened to Art of Noise anymore! Cool! I forgot about the cover of Peter Gunn. I've uploaded a few tunes on my page you might be interested in. My musical tastes are catholic (small c) with emphasis on classical.
Well, I did survive the Infinite Perspective Vortex, though I was not so happy with the Cubs this evening.
Just as an aside, I had the good fortune to meet Douglas Adams years ago and got him to autograph all his books. Spent some time with him and he was an impressive personality apart from being very, very tall! He must have about 6'7" or so. A real hoopie-frood.
You might try a free program called LameXP to convert your wavs to mp3s. Works very well and gives you several encoding options. I do everything at 192kHz. Well, enough of that!!
Oh, I always knew there was no way to have a career in the Army and act. So I did my bit and then transferred to the NG, which made acting possible if difficult. I got out for good in time to move to NY and feel completely useless after 9/11. Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster I didn't give in to the temptation to re-up.
