Yeah, I have the same basic 'faith' that reason will outlast dogma and fantasy. I guess in this case I'm feeling a moral responsibility for allowing my son to be brainwashed this way and I know he'll be affected by it for the rest of his life. Still, I also know, from a counsellor perspective, that it could serve him well, when he moves to the right ;) side of the debate, that he knows the view of the indoctrinated.
Nothing is really lost, unless you cease to see it's value eh? :D
Thanks for apologising to Ida. You are in Focus On The Family land. What kind of feedback do you get about your tattoo, or are most of them unaware what it signifies? It can't be easy living there. I lived in Denver for 9 years.
im Jeric and i am founder of Leaders in Free Thought, an atheist/skeptic group at CSU in in Fort Collins. we are hosting Eugenie Scott in January and i wanted to invited you and anyone else you know who wants to come. (its free).

For a minute I thought you were my son, who is stationed at Fort Carson. Then I remembered he's Brian. (How can a parent forget that? Five kids who answer to each other's names no matter who's called. Just ask any parent. It happens to all of us.)
Bryan, please consider joining my new group HERCULANEUM: A PLACE FOR MEN. Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.
I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.
This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to men only. Please check it out.
Welcome to Atheist Nexus and the world of fine reasoning and commonsense. We encourage you to join groups and contribute whenever you please with your strong knowledge of atheism.
