John Lennon had quite a spiritual journey: from Krishna to agnostic. The faces on my header are freethinkers, not necessarily atheists. My original name here was Free Thinker.
I like Bill, but some things he says (particularly his stance on medicine) I do not jive with. As for 5 movies not to be missed, well, that's a tough one. Movies are subjective and it would depend on the genre of film. If I just had to pick 5 (man only 5!) I'd probably say:
Seven Samurai, A Touch of Evil, The Princess Bride, 2001 and Goodfellas. But that could change in 10 minutes.
Hey, love your peace sign. Haven't accepted you on fb. Please don't take it personally. Just need to keep my relationships "pure" with many especially as a mom of young children. This is my true home and place you can connect with me if you need to.
Hi Sekharan, my pen pal. Oh, how silly that I did not understand what you meant by "active". Well, now you know a little bit more about my lifestyle. :) No, I am not an active atheist; just on here. I would love to watch those DVD's. I should check my library for starters. You might have heard a song on my page that spoke of Jesus. It is actually a song that dismisses him. The other songs are just your average classic rock songs which is my favorite genre.
Hi Sekharan! I am fairly new here also so I've noticed that you have to be a member of a group if you want to post a discussion under that category but can comment on any discussion without needing to be a member. It was just recent I decided to see what networking groups there are for atheism which is when I stumbled upon this site which has satisfied my quest for the truth "beyond belief". Not sure what you mean about "active" but I think you mean if I exercise. I stay active by walking with my kids, picking up their things all day, and keeping the house tidy. My husband and I are light eaters and work hard not looking like the average American (over weight). I am happy you come to me and ask questions. I see how you need to find a place to belong. I hope to encourage you to discuss your views so you can accept your family's opinions a little easier. Know what I mean? :)
Hi! Yes, I am on facebook but I do not give any hint of atheism there. I will look you up some time. Of course I have heard of Dubai! This is very interesting stuff about you. :) Let me know when your son gets your music up and running. I would love to visit your page and give a listen. Take care!
Hello, again! You are correct about my state motto. I am happy living in NH so if you choose a place in the U.S, Nashua is a nice, small city. :) About music: If you have itunes on your computer then you can add songs from your account. On the left side here, click on Edit under the music box then add the file (song) you would like. I am telling you these instructions out of memory so hope it works!
Hi Sekharan. Yeah always welcome in Geneva. It's a pity that even in a tolerant and atheistic society as Europe some hard core christian fundamental churches with really rigid in-out characteristics still exist. I had the "luck" to have been born in one... I left 3 month ago after years of struggeling. Let's see maybe I can be an example for a few of my friends to think again about what they believe...
My apologies, Sekharan! I have sent a friend request. Actually, I am looking for work - it's a difficult search, since there are few positions for librarians, unless you have a lot experience. I've got my fingers crossed :)
Thank you for adding me, Sejharan! I think we both have good taste and common sense! I think this simple picture says it all about religion. I'm still finding my way around this site, but have learned a lot from fellow members. I hope you enjoy your time here!
Hey, this is Hamed, I'm Syrian not Libyan, but... it's actually almost the same as being Libyan! same language, similar modern history, same authoritatian regimes, same psychopathetic minds, same religion, same glorious ancient civilisation (Phoenicians being the common factor), and now, both Libyans and Syrians are fighting for freedom in one movement, the Arab Spring!
It's been terrible nowadays, there is a serious danger of a sectarian struggle, thanks to our mad rulers and shaikhs! maybe I will talk more about that sometime later, actually I use ultrasurf to access safe internet, I hope that the intelligence of the dictator won't think of searching the nexus, if it ever happens, I will be watched, maybe arrested, maybe tortured....... I can't even imagine it, but I'm not afraid, fear has gone forever from the hearts of the Arab people..
looks like you've recently joined the nexus, so have I! I really liked your Omar Al-Khayyam quote! actually contrary to popular belief, the Arabs had enjoyed freedom of thought even though that the region was ruled by a theocracy, you can find a lot of Arabs who had no belief in god and some were even Satanist! the status quo in the middle east is the result of the last 500 years, but before that the Arab world was similar to what is Europe to the world now.. a truth that makes me feel nostalgia to the true Arab culture.........
ultimate human expression through digital txts?, freethought; freethinker, yeah that'd be a label of sorts you could stamp on me I guess

new histories are made at lightspeed seems to be the mode this era; idea warfare? and sure enough; hey, what's the big idea atheists n' freethinkers and and... see? perhaps digital media has exposed the corruption and greed that permeated during bush era... and thus the imperfect but honest folks had light shed on them too...?
