Greetings, Tex! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Feb. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds,Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Hey! Thanks for the welcome. Wow! People are so nice here. You'd think that since we are a bunch of godless heathens, we'd be evil or something! (ha ha)

Thanks for the welcome. Actually, Israel isn't quite a theocracy (yet). It's moving in that direction, though, mainly due to an indifferent secular majority, but then, so is the US, according to what I read.
The irony is that Israel was established as a secular democratic state by secular Jews, and to this day orthodox Jews have a problem with the concept of a Jewish state before the arrival of the messiah - which doesn't bother them as far as taking taxpayers' money as welfare, but that's another story...
Glad to be on board - You may consider visiting the Ft Worth Humanists on the 2nd Wed of each month at 901 Page Ave (Unitarian Building) We meet at 7 PM. Come join a group of dedicated atheists, freethinkers, nulifidians and just plain non-believers

Nah, I'm not seeing any BIG effects yet from Ike. Mainly some moderate winds and zero rain. Cheers
Thanx!
I feel like it will be 27 years before I get out of UTA. :-)
