I've mostly stayed in Texas because my kids grew up here and I didn't want to take them away from their friends. Now, I'm 5 years divorced and my kids are both off at college, planning their lives elsewhere. I sold my house a year ago and rented a condo and now I'm ready to move on. I've considered moving back to N.O., but I really think I need a change. I would love to get away from the bible-belt and live somewhere more progressive. I travel a lot for business, so I've done some research, but I'm just not sure where I want to spend the next part of my life. I'm thinking, somewhere with mountains, water, and Atheists would be nice... ;-)
Hi Stormy. I'm originally from New Orleans, but I moved to Texas about 20 years ago. Most of my family still lives in the area. Some had damage from Katrina, but nothing too major. I visit when I can and I miss certain things about the city. Do you think you'll ever move back?
Welcome to ORIGINS the group that is forever enquiring into the origins of everything.
This is what science and commonsense do so well in contrast to the useless "goddidit" dogma of the indoctrinated religious.
Your welcome, please stay and enjoy. Hope I wasn't to gruff. I just have an easily triggered averse reaction to forum "pollution", especially when it is in the technical and administration categories. They're there for fixing immediate problems and need to be clutter free.
Thanks for inviting me. I'm still in the process of learning how to use this venue -- by the usual process of trial and error, of course -- so please bear with me if I make all sorts of dumb mistakes.
General Network Questions is a technical forum. There is a philosophy category for stuff like "Epistemology". There's plenty of other categories. You're far more likely to get a discussion happening if you start it in the right place.
