Thanks for the welcome Terry! I look forward to finding out more about the site. I was looking for a sort of mission statement if you will to give me more information on what this site is all about. My main goal is to join an Atheist group that is unlike the rest. I will check things out and look around.
Thank you for welcoming me to the group. My first degree, in one of the premier atheistic sciences geology, is from King's College, London (1973). I have had many debates with the religiously afflicted, none of whom will look at scientific evidence or listen to reason, so I hope to learn some way to be more effective in helping stamp out this virus. I look forward to reading some interesting discussions.
Thank you for the warm welcome and the invite. I majored in astronomy and physics in college, so this is an amazing group for me. I can't wait to learn my way around the site and join in the wonderful discussions! I have been looking for a bastion of rational people with critical thinking skills for a long time now. I think I found it.
Dr. Meadon...Thanks for your warm reception...I am presently getting ready to leave Florida for Maine where I spend the summer...I look forward to becoming more active following the seasonal move. I very much enjoy watching lectures and debates with Richard Dawkins by the way!
Thank you for your invitation, Dr Meaden. The description of your discussion community indeed appears to cover many of my interests.
Dr Neil Tyson's homage to Dr Sagan's "Cosmos" has reawakened my layman's interest in science and the intricacies of the natural universe and I look forward to participating in reasoned discussions on these topics.
