The continued strength of evangelism at Oxford is quite scary. Combined with the wishy-washy home counties Anglicanism it can be quite invasive. Do you still work for the university?

Thanks for your welcome. The atheist group in Singapore were having some discussion on the UK bus ads. I am agnostic, so I didnt quite agree with their argument that we should spread a message against conservatism

Thanks for your welcome. Its really hard to find people in India speak out boldly that he/she is an atheist. Moreover, once you declare before people that you are an atheist , you are looked as an alien from another planet.
My only statement is "If God is true/truth whatever...it need not hide".
Truth never hides. If it hides it is not truth and what we see through our eyes is the truth. The UK bus ads.. i think its waste of time and energy. When we involve in converting people there will be little difference between them and us. Atheism is like knowledge and rational spark that rises in one's mind. It cannot be triggered by others.

Hi there! Nice to meet you! I would definitely like to have a conversation with you at some point, you sound very interesting!

Not so long ago, whilst in Aberdeen train station, i was infuriated to see a large poster reading 'and the fool hath said in his heart. there is no god' - Why is that allowed? Atheists wouldn't be allowed to put up a poster saying 'and the fool hath said in his heart, there IS a god' (even though i often find myself thinking this! hee hee.

Oh, also - i set up a mythology group a while ago, which hasn't been very active of late but hopefully i will have time to contribute a lot more soon.

Thanks for the comment and the group suggestions... I will definitely check them out. I loved reading your bio. My daughter also figured out that "Santa" or "Father Christmas" was impossible and therefore a lie when she was only 6 years old as well. She is 12 now and already a fiercely strong free-thinker. Also, thank you for providing such a wealth of research and information on your page - I'm looking forward to many hours or reading.

Thank you for welcoming me! It will be fun to join the groups where I can read and discuss matters with fellow free thinkers.

It wasn´t so much as an escape it was more a gradual opposition to the absurdity of religion. In my family we were like a type of cultural Catholics and my relatives’ haven´t really had a problem with it. They just follow the traditions anyway so they don´t take offence to any comments that I might make. Although it would be fun if they joined me in being attentive to the damage that religion does to societies.

Have you got a link to "ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Humankind, religion, Darwin..." I would like to join that group.

Thank You in advance.

Death of a family member

Posted by Larry Taylor on May 20, 2013 at 8:15pm 5 Comments

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Posted by Christy Stewart on May 20, 2013 at 2:17pm 6 Comments

This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. The doctors who admit patients are general MDs. (Psychiatrists see patients after admission) Yesterday evening we received several calls from irate parents. A new doctor who was doing admissions yesterday actually…

anti-atheist rant from an Orthodox Mormon part 2

What do you think of this,

Nathan Young,

No Jason Torpy it is you that should be banned for promoting atheism, a belief that has no foundation in reality and zero proof behind it.  The letter was a mockery of your atheist beliefs.  I request to the board here that they remove Jason for his unverifiable beliefs in atheism for which he has no proof other than his arrogance.  The letter was a mockery of atheism.  Atheism is stupid and it should be mocked and it…

Anti-atheist post from an Orthdox Mormon

What do you think of this Facebook comment?

Nathan Young to Jason Torpy,

for once you and I can agree on something.  We should disrespect beliefs that are untenable such as the belief that there is no God.  Indeed for me to respect you Jason, I cannot respect your belief in non-belief in atheism.  Your atheism comes across as arrogrance, smugness, and self righteous.  Indeed after reading "An Open Letter to My Religious Friends" I penned one…
