Thank you for the welcome, Dr Meaden. I'm glad to be here. It's sad to look back and think about what I used to believe, and to think about things I used to say based on religion and see that it must have hurt so many people around. Religion still has a lot of influence in my country, and that is what I wish to end. I just "came out" as an atheist and it's not easy to find others who think the way I do, so I'm happy I found Nexus.
Thank you very much for the warm welcome, Terence.
I went from growing up as a god-fearing Baptist, to a young adult who started questioning if there really was a god, from there I became agnostic, and then finally I freed myself of the hypocrisy, nonsense and guilt. I've been guilt-free about it for twenty years. I have no problem letting people know that I am an atheist. I am not rude or inconsiderate about it in any way. I believe that if religious people can freely express their convictions, then I should have no qualms about it myself.
I'm looking forward to navigating my way around this site, making new friends, and contributing to the site.
Thank you very much for the warm welcome. Living in a very small town I have found that the Internet has been an excellent way for me to connect with other Atheists. I look forward to meeting people on Atheist nexus.
Thank you very much Terry. It's an honor to meet you, albeit in an informal manner. Thank you for your invite. I look forward to hearing more on your experiences as an atheist and hopefully sharing some of my own.
