We had sweet potato pie, and when that ran out we had a mince pie. The mince pie is really different - chop up black and golden raisins, a whole orange and a whole lemon, including the peels, and cook down with some diced apples, in apple juice along with brown sugar and some spices. Then that goes into the pie shell and is baked. Including the peels gives it some 'bite', like marmalade. I found the recipe in an old box, haven't made it in over 20 years.

HI steph-I don't remember what I was talking about-I've been laid up for over a month now-spent almost a week in hospital with a Deep Vein Thrombosis- and I've been convalescing ever since-I've just gotten back to sitting up in a chair for more than 10 minutes at a time this past week. Sorry for the long delay in writing.
Hi Steph, the week-end has started. I don't think we have the Black Friday shopping thing over here. We call Black Friday any Friday 13th in any month. At some Pubs girls dress in Halloween style. It means a superstitious belief that something bad might happen.
I just want to say that I want you on an anti-zombie team with me if it comes down to it :) :) :)
What could possibly go wrong with locking up a bunch of zombies in the barn? I have a plan for our survivors. I think that they should find an abandoned mansion and fortify it. They could then gather numerous supplies and stay put for a while. Take up gardening and make sure they have a dedicated water source. Zombies don't appear to be very adaptive to strong fortifications. :) ;) :)
