I usually log into the chat room most evening at 8-9 EST. Last night's chat sort of petered out because the other people there were multitasking. I'm there to chat, not lurk, so if the conversation slows to a crawl I log off and attend to other things. I should be back on tonight at the usual time.

The mince pie is really different - chop up black and golden raisins, a whole orange and a whole lemon, including the peels, and cook down with some diced apples, in apple juice along with brown sugar and some spices. Then that goes into the pie shell and is baked. Including the peels gives it some 'bite', like marmalade. I found the recipe in an old box, haven't made it in over 20 years.
