Hey Steph! The kids are good, thanks for asking. The baby eats a lot and grows so fast. He's almost crawling now. I, on the other hand, am so very tired. Maybe that will change when the weather does. And how have you been? I like your new pics. Birding, are you? :)
Just noticed your question to me from last week on whether or not I'm trying to gain muscle mass. Of course!! Always have--for over 55 years, ever since I was a teenager. Weights, push ups, springs, you name it. Nothing has ever worked. Protein supplements? No help. I still try, but it's mostly just to keep fit and strong. Must be in the genes! So, do you have a magic pill?
Just received the news that my documentary featured on randi.org, which is a website of James Randi. The article is written by Steven Novella, M.D., JREF’s Senior Fellow and Director of the JREF’s Science-Based Medicine project. Excerpt: "Here is one skeptical effort that needs our support now: Deepak Gupta (not Chopra) is the founder of SavvySkeptic.com. He is producing a documentary film on homeopathy that will actually reflect reality. An indiegogo campaign is underway to provide some funding for distribution and marketing – please visit his page and take a look, and consider becoming a supporter, and also help spread the word. Fellow skeptics often ask me how they can support skeptical activism even if they don’t have the time or experience to run a blog or podcast – this is how. As a community we need to get behind those who are producing this kind of content." Full article: http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/swift-blog/2029-keeping-up-the-pressure.html Looking forward to your support. Thanks for the warm welcome - I am really looking forward to some stimulating discussions here as I live in a small South African coastal town inhabited by an inordinate number of retired Dutch Reformed Church dominees (pastors). One can see how their religion-raddled brains have made piety, self-righteousness and moral smugness the town norm as almost everyone has thin lips because they are always pressed together in disapproval! Their old testament religion is certainly good sport for any outspoken atheist, although since I wore my "Atheism: a non-prophet organization" T-shirt to the grocery store, I've noticed that even their dogs are not allowed to romp with mine on the beach. . . go figure!
my typing skill is almost as poor as my eyesight.. please forgive me for calling you steve !!! i am very exited as this is my first ever self indulgance regarding my deepest and most powerful beliefs, i am not a university educated man, but pride myself ( very quietly) merely on my thirst for knowlege. my journey may be of some interest or , as i sincerely wish, helpful to any fellow human who is stricken by social stupidity at every level by bigots. i am uncomfortable on the pc and still miss pen to paper for expressing my self, i feel this site may invite like minded people to help dinosaurs like me to share what i feel is an untapped seam of observational kindness and wisdom. thanks johnno.
