Greetings, unholyroller! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Aug. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
I spent the greater part of the day vomiting because of a vestibular attack. It's difficult to describe what that feels like. GD rain and low pressure fronts really bother me.
The second VNG set that was done the goggles leaked light giving me an artificial horizon negating nystagmus - they don't know how to test, so an MRI was ordered.
I had to be sedated for the MRI because I can’t lay down without feeling like a parachutist out of control. All I really needed was to be put into a twilight sleep. The otologist didn't know how to order that, so I had to call the previous doctor and get the name of the medicine they used. This time I was put entirely out as though it was for an operation. I was unconscious for over an hour and a half. While I was waiting in ACU someone stroked out across the room in the post medical unit. Here it is four days later and the metallic taste of the anastasia is just getting out of my mouth.
If doctors cared about quality control they would allow the patient's to read the medical reports to help make corrections, but I suppose that's another story.
I finally decided to hire a lawyer after after writing a doctor asking her to correct hospital admission paperwork she generated saying I had been sick since 1983. The first time I saw a doctor for my inner ear problem was 2004. She refused to correct the paperwork saying she isn't my workman's compensation doctor. Her error is the reason workman's comp didn't pay for the two surgeries and seven days in the hospital.
Thanks Unholy Roller. I do better when I'm not active. Now that it's winter I'm not as active so I don't vomit as much. I'm thinking of having my sinus' reamed out so I have better aeration of my sinus' and thus my inner ears.
Two cats named Marcus? Surely the fabric of the universe will rip. Actually, Marcus is named for a character in a series of mysteries set in ancient Rome, Marcus Didius Falco. A bit of a rogue, but a nice guy.
Ours Thanksgiving was quiet, just the 2 of us. That's how we wanted it. We had home made Chinese dumplings in hot sauce, with punkin pie for desert. Took naps. Overall a nice time. I imagine that your's was probably the opposite! Hope it was good.
My next attempt is to take mega doses of fish oil to help the cells heal without undesirable mutations. I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to get stem cell implants into both of my vestibular systems. My headaches are better since doing the Eply maneuver to get rid of some BPPV I had, but I know I have scarring of the vestibular system and that will only be helped through stem cell therapy. I hope one day that will be available.
quite all right. Actually it was a bit humorous to have what I was talking about occur right there for all to see. I guess ppl like that are blind to how they are behaving, if that's the right word. And who is felch?
"you're one of my favs. If you and your partner are ever in Oklahoma.....give me a call. I can cook vegetarian." - same back at ya! ditto! Thanks for the kind comments!
There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.
There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…
i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day. however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more. in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).
THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…

I wear ear plugs when it's windy, or if it's noisy outside.
My ears, because of the fistula's are like a barometer. When low weather fronts come through it makes my ears hurt more than normal.
I've heard that weather fronts affect people with RA too.
