Sorry, I didn't see your comment on the group before. Actually, a few of us from the local freethought group went to Georgia today for the Renaissance Festival. We don't have any meetings planned this week, but if you just want to meet up for coffee or something in the next couple of days, I'm sure we can work something out. Just let me know what your schedule is like if you're interested.
Thanks for the invite but if I make the cross country ride next year it will be with 1 or 2 of my riding buddies. If I'm ever riding in your area I'll look you up. I mostly ride alone also. I am a member of a riding group called the Jersey Boyz. It's mostly public safety workers but not all. Jersey Boyz are part riding club and part social club since most ride but we have a few members that don't. There's a handful of other guys I ride with on and off but most times I ride alone. I ride year round here in Jersey when most riders put their bikes up for the Winter. I ride more than I drive in the warm months. I'm a retired Firefighter so I have all of the time in the world to ride. I'm also a former Marine, 1973 to 1976. So we have a few things in common, bikes, military service and public safety careers.
You never said if you attended the Biker's Roundup. They had 2 in the Atlanta area the last 5 years or so. I missed the last one in Atlanta But I was at the previous one. Alaska sounds like a great ride. I know a guy who rode there twice. I'm in New Jersey. My goal is to ride cross country. There's a good chance I may do it next Spring. So since you were thinking about a Black Atheist rider group what do you think about starting something?
