Greetings, Gary! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus for a long time. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Wow, I don't understand people like that. That is so hypocritical. They should be spreading this "love" not being mean. That is probably my biggest vice against religious people, I have yet to meet a non-hypocrit religious person, wonder why.
All'us'all can do a get together whenever y'all can make it, so YOU pick a date or two, and I'll contact the rest of the crew to make sure they can be here, since you have the longest distance to travel we'll work around you. Jon is relieved. Long and VERY weird story. Uju and Pascal are back on the same block they were on before, and all's well with them!! THAT's a surprise but I'm so glad to hear it! Uju's on FB, too... you should join.
Re Lee's job - yes, we fell to our knees and thanked god for giving him this new job. I mean, we forgot to beg god not to have him get laid off the old job, but see, he got a raise, so that means that god really WAS watching out for us and had a obviously superior plan to ours. Pretty freakin amazing stuff, this god crap, ya know? He's a picky son of a bitch, though, won't heal Stan's cancer for nuttin; I suppose he's too busy helping football players make routine plays. Gotta have priorities, ya know.
Patsy and Jon Moore were over yesterday... super time!! Probably the first time we've seen Jon since May of 07! FAR too long... He and M are split. Love you, Uju didn't make it... (you know she's BAAAACK, in NJ, right?) c.
At 9:08am on 5 November 2008, Carol Everhart Roper said…I'm still in relieved/dazzled mode. Finally. FINALLY! What a mess he will have to inherit. My wish now is that he is able to do the things he wanted, and do them with personal safety.
Hey booger. Yes, it's rough for them, and every day it gets worse. Very little positive but they got a kitten who adores Stan, and that gives him a lot of pleasure.
Lee said to tell you he isn't going to join a group so he can talk to you when you won't even reply to emails. HAHA. He DOES have a point, there, Mr. Dean - he of the email phobia. He says you'll just have to either email him or come and visit us again soon!
Are there pix of the grandbaby up anywhere? I'd love to see them. I know you, you're loving the role, aren't you!
I did send the link to Rick, and will continue to harass him to come here. He's doing very well, happy, etc. He's the American Atheist's official DC lobbyist (or was last time we discussed it).
Keep in touch, darlin! We ARE Obamafied up here, it seems. And this am, Colin Powell redeemed himself and not only endorsed Obama but ... trashed the McPalin duo. I just hope that once elected, he can really effect some change. We sure as hell neeeeeeeed it!
Hey babycakes! No I didn't see the Philly group, I'll look for it. Absolutely delighted you're here, though. Now can I get you on Facebook?
Lee's reluctant to join stuff ... but I'm working on him. If I tell him you and Lloyd are here, I bet I can get him here!
Right now, we're dealing with our dear friend Stan (you met him, Bette the shrink's husband) who is battling -- a losing battle-- two cancers. He was diagnosed almost a year ago, but these last months have been particularly difficult. I talk to Bette almost daily, and Stan is one of Lee's best friends, so together, we're trying to be there for them as much as possible. They moved last September as Stan retired, to Milton De, which is a GREAT little town near Lewes De. We visit when we can. It's heartwrenching every day.
On the upside, he LOVES his new job (new from last January), and his mother is up here visiting us for six weeks, so he's as happy as a dung beetle in a camel courtyard. What's new with you?
"Here's the real poser: did Wolf know beforehand that she was an atheist and toss her a a hanging curve ball to hit out of the park?!?Atheism - It's A Conspiracy!!! Muahahahahahaha!"
Actually, the rednecks are here and everywhere. Let me say, I'm not a big fan of these people. That's putting it mildly. Need I describe them? You know who I mean. This seems to be the time of year when they come out of the woodwork. Here in Indiana, as the weather gets nice, the motorcyclists are out in full force. I hate the noise cycles make. Then there's the Indianapolis 500 fans, the majority of which are rednecks. Interview them or a typical Pacer fan (big news as they face the Miami…See More
"Happy Holidays is a good enough saying for anyone at Christmas time. I support the phrase "happy holidays" rather than the bullshit most Americans were taught. Let's go back in time to look at meanings here. "Holidays"…"
