Being an atheist in a religious family is not easy. One is either forced to "partake" in ceremonies or decide not to participate/attend. You go to a sister's house for a Thanksgiving meal, and they "offer up" a prayer of thanks. What do you do? While others prayed in church, I never bowed (I did stand) or recited aloud. In my mind, I was a rock--solid and silent. I'm learning to accept the belief of others without being judgmental. It ain't easy!
I have the lowest package available (DISH) with no ESPN, etc. Suits me fine. In fact, I'm considering dumping all TV programming. I only have it on to keep me company. That and Big Bang Theory--my fave!
You should sing more, certainly listen to more music. I'm lucky to have good radio stations playing classical music (and jazz). The radio is on all day. I also have many records and tapes. What do you do when you "hang around the house"? Can't you listen to music? By the way, I am lean and healthy, but I work at it very diligently. I'm going to reach 100 if it kills me!!
Thanks for the comment, I.S. Singing is therapeutic, as is music (one enjoys). I don't ever remember singing a solo, however. I'm impressed. I think we have much in common--divorced, gardening, science, music...
I used to have an all black kitty. But he died. So now I need to get another pet. I love the black cats - hope to get more of them sometime soon I hope. Did you get your cats? I know you were looking for some earlier.
Oh, sorry, I mean come chat with me. :) I made an effort to change my sleep schedule and I need an incentive to stay awake the whole day, so I am inviting a few of the people I have met in chat to join me there at all times of the day as I will have my browser open to that page the whole day today. Hope to see you there! Cane
