George I was interested by your comment about how you find Ayn Rand detestable after watching the Mike Wallace interview . What about her specifically offends you so much? I am passionate about many things but mostly at core I like it when people know and can explain their own actions and reactions to others in a civilized and rational manner . Thank You for listening.
George, I always really enjoy your posts and comments! Makes me wish the US was a little less vast, so I could BS with you over a coffee! As it is, Pacific NW and PA have a lot of land in between! Have a great day. Daniel.

I stopped following the On Torture discussion because I was really busy at the time and couldn't keep up. You are right about the "hit or miss" aspect. There is no telling why some get a lot of responses, and others none. I think the biggest one I ever saw was on Atheist Singles entitled Why are you Single? I think it had well over 200 or 300 responses, but the owner left AN abruptly and either deleted it, or it vanished when he closed his account.
Probably so, but would anyone particpate? Not to say they don't care, but considering the number of people on AN, only a small percentage spend any time on the site, it seems. I'm in a number of groups that I post to, but can't get any response from anyone.
I noticed Leslee's new group, but I am on 27 groups already (though not all are active, like I said), and I'm on AI email list already.

"Wow, Joan. That rising tide video is scary. I can't imagine having to put myself in such continuous danger to collect food for survival. If I was in desperate need and there was a large abundance of food available to collect…"
"Loren, both my wife and I decided a long time ago that we would have no memorial. Our wish (in writing and notarized) is to be cremated and scattered over the place of our choosing. Right now, it appears we will be fertilizing our vegetable garden…"
