Greetings, Vernice! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
I haven't forgotten about the site. I've been really busy doing research, working, going to school, studying for the MCAT, doing volunteer work, etc. I intend to post more on this site and touch base w/ my new found friends more :-)
Cool! Good luck on your finals. I wish I had finals right now. Hopefully I'll be going to school in the Fall. Hit me up when you have the spare time! ^.^ - Louis
I still forward to your compilation of relevant quotes or references from Zora Neale Hurston. Also, what do you think of her engagment with voodoo as expressed in Men and Mules and especially in Tell My Horse? Sure, it's anthropological research made popular, but as I recall she was quite over the top in her sensationalization of the subject.
*could hug you* Thanks for friending me! I need a friend in Memphis who's not hopped up in lala land. Please feel free to mail me, maybe we could hang out sometime ^.^
This quote from Zora Neale Hurston is new to me. I read her stuff long before you were born and when very little was in print. If you have more info at hand about Hurston's bearings on religion, it would be great if you would post on the subject in the Black Freethought group.
Welcome to Atheist Nexus and the world of common sense. We encourage you to join good groups and join in when you can.
