I'm doing well, thanks. =)  Just kicking back and relaxing and trying to enjoy life.

I see you're in Myrtle Beach? Went there a couple of times when I lived in eastern North Carolina (Rocky Mount, specifically). Enjoyed myself there, did a lot of things. First time I'd ever been to a beach too; growing up in the Midwest, we don't have too many things like that.

No worries about being coy either, I understand. This is a good community of folks, though. Look around, see where you fit in and get involved!! Hope we can chat soon!!

Well, I WAS going to combine into two comments, but I've overflowed the 2,000 character limit.  I tend to be a bit ... verbose.  In other words, I babble.

How many years did you say you've been a non-believer?  You seemed to have blipped that out.  It looks like there was supposed to be a number in there, but it was missing.

Hmm, similar route for me, with the religion.  I also grew up Catholic.  I never believed from the moment that I was vaguely aware that people actually believed the stories we were being told ... something like 5 or 6 years old.  I don't know if it was the Grimm's Fairytales, the early exposure to science through the kids books purchased for my older brother, the early exposure to Greek and Norse mythology, the early exposure to and love of stage magic and illusions ...

It all sort of came together to make me into someone who wouldn't take mystical stories seriously.  I was stuck going to church weekly, until the age of 18 or so, but I never believed a bit of it.  I even became an altar boy, for several years, as something to break up the monotony of mass.

My own coming out of the closet happened when I was 14, I think.  I asked my mother how much longer I had to go to CCD.  She told me that I had to keep going until I made my Confirmation.  I informed her that I had no intention of making my Confirmation, since I didn't believe any of the nonsense the Catholic church was pushing.  That kind of ended that.  I still had to go to church until I became an adult and could legally refuse, but at least I was done with CCD.

I can understand what you mean about being a little lost.  I never really believed in a god of any sort, but ... well, humans like to have something positive to attach themselves to.  Atheism might not be a positive statement, in itself, but there are many positive statements that can be extrapolated from it, even if it mostly ends up expressing itself as opposition to the fundies.

I ended up over here when I was 11.  My father got a promotion within the management structure of his company which required a move to their Raleigh branch.  I'm originally from the suburbs of Chicago.

I really can't stand the humidity around here, myself.  I've contemplated moving further west, myself ... maybe the Pacific northwest or something.  I dunno.  I haven't completely thought things through fully, yet.

I can't wait until October.  We should be done with the humidity by then, at least until next year.

Hmm, so what's the 'lipstick' part in reference to?  You had something else in there to begin with.  Definitely a good move to remove your last name, though, if you're worried about potential employers Googling you or something.

Who outed you, anyway? Was it a personal choice, or did a family member catch on to the sort of things you've been reading lately, or something to that effect?

Hmm, at least you're not in one of the more rural parts of South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is pretty reasonable, isn't it? I've been there a few times.
