'Undercover Mosque' is really scary stuff; on the other hand I felt quite sorry for these utterly brainwashed people ranting mindlessly against their fellow human beings.

Yes, you should be proud of the argumentative baloney at the FSM church discussion... I was making a joke at you making up all these seemingly believable arguments regarding FSM-N when there's really nothing to argue about cause everybody knows FSM Original Recipe TM is the one true way.

Thanks Ken for asking, but I must say that I hardly know who Mika Häkkinen is, as I don't follow any sports at all anymore. I think I have found something more creative to do than watching passively for some cars go round a circuit for hours to an end.
I have four different active blogs in two languages, I'm writing a book at the moment and I have a little business repairing computers besides my full-time dayjob as a journalist.
All of this would be quite impossible to accomblish if I would spend my evenings in front of a TV-set.
I can of course still remember the lure of the sports, and even as if I have made my own choice I am quite at ease with others who have decided otherwise.

Do you follow Formula One racing at all? My wife and I were big fans of Mika Hakkinen before he retired.

Joskus heinäkuun alussa, melko pian sen jälkeen, kun sivusto aukesi. Luin Nexuksesta FriendlyAtheist-blogissa, ja päätin testata.

Olen ollut ateisti koko elämäni ajan, mutta oma hype-aikani alkoi jo pari vuotta sitten, eikä se vain tunnu laantuvan. Uusi vaihe alkoi Sam Harrisin loistavan luennon kuuntelemisesta (se on muuten edelleen tarjolla osoitteessa http://itc.conversationsnetwork.org/shows/detail785.html )
Olen kahden vuoden mittaan rakentanut blogiini http://uskoitseesi.blogs.fi mielestäni melkoisen kattavan katsauksen ateismin ja uskontokritiikin keskeiseen ajatteluun ja samalla hieman pohtinut asioita oman viitekehykseni kautta hieman uusilta näkökulmiltakin.
Sain Suomen Tietokirjailijat ry:ltä myös apurahan joko kirjan tai verkkosivuston työstämiseksi blogiin työstämästäni materiaalista ja nyt parhaillaan olen työstämässä tätä materiaalia kuntoon.
Homma on melkoinen, siellä materiaali koostuu 140 esseestä, jotka kaikki tavalla tai toisella koskettelevat uskontoja ja uskonnottomuutta. Projektin työnimenä on "Tieteen vastaus uskonnolle - 140 kysymystä uskonnoista, joita et ole koskaan kehdannut kysyä?"
Viimeisen puolen vuoden ajan olen myös kääntänyt tätä materiaalia osoitteessa http://beinghuman.blogs.fi , sillä suurin osa käsittelemistäni asioista on luonteeltaan hyvin universaaleja ja toivon, että ajatukseni voisivat kiinnostaa ihmisiä muuallakin.

Kiitos Suomi-ryhmän perustamisesta tähän ateistiseen facebookiin, hienoa! Minulla on menossa hype-aika ateismin suhteen. Luen Jumalharhaa ja kuuntelen/katson Richard Dawkinsin luentoja netistä. Lisäksi olen vuoden alusta lähtien seurannut The Sceptics' Guide to the Universe nettiradiolähetyksiä. Astronomiystäväni kehui sitä ja nyt olen koukussa. Jotenkin tuntuu siltä, että elämme jotain murroskautta ateismin suhteen. Ateismi ei ole enää poliittisesti varautunutta, vaan ihan oikeasti ihmiset alkavat tulla ulos kaapista aikana, jolloin itsemurhapommittajat haluavat ikuistaa itsensä ja vaihtoehtohoitoja ehdotetaan lääketieteellisten hoitojen rinnalle huonovointisia ihmisiä parantamaan ähkystään. Järki kunniaan!

Kiva nähdä muitakin suomalaisia, olin pitkään (tietääkseni) ainoa. Tervetuloa vaan :)
