Can't say that I'm a constant reader of your blog. But the knowledge that I live just down the road in Madison, Mn. and am in the vicinity of a real, live, renowned atheist (who is not afraid to be vocal) is just so invigorating!!!!I have been stifling myself in this community for the last 35 years. Thank god (I know, bad colloquialism) for the internet connection. It gives me courage.. Vicki V.

Hello PZ,

A few of my friends on facebook have been promoting this article claiming that fluoride consumption causes brain damage. Many people seem to be up in arms over this, blaming fluoridation of water on everything from autism to ADD. I thought you might be interested in commenting on this little controversy. :)

Best regards

Dr. Myers:

Knowing that you are a fan of all things "cephalopod", you might be interested in the cartoon "squidbillies", on the "Adult Swim" program on the Cartoon Channel. It is by turns gross, silly, surreal, profane, etc. But it is also sharply satirical and at times, laugh out loud funny. For what its worth, I heartedly recommend it!!

Dr.Myers  I'm a big fan of your blog. When I want to have a good laugh and I'm up for some really good fundie/ignorance bashing I visit Pharyngula. No one can do it like PZ.It is so refreshing.May I suggest going after Ann Coulter more often since lately she thinks she knows a thing or two about science.I'm gonna start a rumor about you two, saying that she sometimes has fantasies. About you and her having a wild affair where many squids and octopuses were involved.

Dr. Myers

I've been watching and listening to your debates that I find on the internet, and wish to say 'well done'!

Those folks who aren't science oriented I'm sure have a difficult time understanding evolution. Those of us who are still have a difficult time comprehending the vastness and the majesty of it all. Who hasn't looked into the night sky and marveled at the 'isness' of the universe, the simple fact that what we perceive is so hugh, so distant and so mysterious that our puny minds struggle to grasp it all.......

Thank Zeus for the scientists!!!

Thanks for "friending" me PZ. I saw you at the AAI conference in Burbank and became an instant fan. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know who you were before the conference. I met two girls there and when I asked them what brought them to their first AAI conference, they said (I swear) in unison, "PZ Meyers!", with excitement and a trace of wistfulness. I've since checked out your blog and enjoyed reading about some of your antics. Thank you for your writing and your activism!

Good to see you here Professor. I'm having a ball playing with Perry S(toopid) Marshall - remember him? CosmicFingerPrints and the Random Number Generator fallacy you took a pop at some time back?

I'm doing a spoof on him (CosmicFingerPuppets.com) which we're discussing over at Origins group - I hope you have time to pass an eye over it.
