Hey, that's nice to hear. Lappeenranta is a nice town, especially in summer....little boring in winter though. I've lived here for about 5 years. Your photos are beautiful, I recognize Helsinki's Kalliokirkko there..

Thanks, Bill, I'll check it out. Yeah, I sang at Harold Washington's funeral when I was like ten...that was ages ago. I sang at the funeral with a choir I was in called, ironically, "All God's Children".
Yeah, my main concern for my kids at this point is that my sister/bro in law are VERY religious and Christian and I'm constantly putting out fires like "Mommy, are you going to hell because you don't believe in Jesus?" I love my sister, but I hate that she tries to program my kids to feel fear for the soul of their mother. Now that they're getting older it's a little easier for them to figure these things out on their own, but it's scary to think something could happen to your mom. Also, I had to explain to them that Santa didn't exist pretty regularly as my parents couldn't help but perpetuate the lie year after year. I think we're over that now, too, though. How old are your little ones?
Maybe we should change jobs, I live in Marina and work in Aptos. If you are looking for like minded people here on this end of the bay http://www.atheistnexus.org/group/MontereySkeptics We have a small group here, we are most active on the Yahoo Group link and try to meet at least once a month.
Edwardos!!!! My husband went to U of C, and also has many a fine memory from there. I was a north sider (DePaul) and Bacino's and Leona's were my nearest fix. That said, White Sox all the way.
Hiya Bill! My mom gave up on any notion of converting any of us a long time ago. I miss Chicago except in the winter but feel like I'm becoming a Californian. My daughter (age 5) has now officially spent more of her life here than IL. Weird. Great pics you have here!

You've sure put a lot of work into this page. I'll be sure to take the time to look at it later. (And perhaps it will inspire me to work on mine.)
