You are correct, it is automatic, in most cases. I say to do that because of some bugs in the Ning programming system. There have been some groups I joined that would not notify me, even when I selected "follow", and there have been some that I selected "stop following" and left the group, and still I get notified. Also, on some of the groups I started, I was not getting notified of new discussions. I think we got it worked out now, but I always tell people to select "follow" just in case. :)
I'm not much for sports, but I have lived numerous different places in the US and the Packers fans are the most loyal fans I have ever seen here. They rival some of the UK football fans. I had a blast being in a bar in Milwaukee rooting for the Packers with a packed house!
Truly no need to apologise about keeping quiet when JSH was on a rampage. It was not worth saying anything. She was like a high speed train wreck - best to get out of the way before you are run over. I've told felch the same thing. One must choose their battles and she was not worth the energy.

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you!
