Thanks so much for the comment on my page gerard26. It looks like we have some things in common! So cool! So nice to have you as my friend! You have a Happy New Year!
I just got the most recent issue of Free Inquiry, but it looks like the review of my book was only in the bulletin. I would love to read it. Would you be willing to photocopy it for me? I can give you my address. Or maybe you could just bring it to the next SWiFT meeting.
Thanks for letting me know! Did you find it online, or do you subscribe to the bulletin? I subscribe to Free Inquiry, but I don't get the bulletin. I'll try to track it down!
Thank you for your comments on my John Brown video, Gerard. Sometimes it seems the real "nuts" have more sense to make the changes we need, than the ones who want us to wait, and wait and wait. Today's "terrorist" may be tomorrow's "hero" or revolutionary. We can criticize some of Brown's actions, but in the bigger picture he was a man who lived his belief in equality and true freedom. I can buy into that kind of "faith." You take care.
Gerard26, please consider joining my new group HERCULANEUM: A PLACE FOR MEN. Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.
I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.
This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to men only.
Your profile, as expressed above, is very well written,
namely
"I am a positive atheist, a free man, not bound by dogma, superstition, myths or paralyzing traditions. Reason and science can explain our world, minus faith, and show us the necessity for possesing a higher moral and ethical code of conduct without theism".
If only everybody in the world could achieve this level of rationality.
Welcome to Atheist Nexus----the world of fine reasoning, rational sense, and sensible friends bearing friendly facts. No dogma here.
