I'm hoping that we'll keep making strides in understanding consciousness, and that this will help us "kick the habit" of religion.

Hey... in my thread on Statistics help, you provided some extremely excellent information. Sadly, my wording skills are terrible. Do you think you could help me re-word the script so that it's correct about the null hypothesis and still gets across the point I'm trying to make?

It is always your prerogative to say so =) isn't it, sir? All I would like to point out is that Alice, Sex Pistols, Ozzie, Kurt (Cobain), and many,many other innovative/so called 'repulsive' performers have been commonly accused of being contrived and, concomitantly, very purposefully shocking, as well.
However, that accusation/opinion has no relationship whatsoever with their A) popularity OR B) talent (thank goodness).
Not much difference in any of these parallel accusations, although there is MUCH sameness in the general public's reactions to the artists. Here's the takeaway: All of them have been quite influential, extremely popular and widely copied.
General rule of thumb, if you're not original/admired, you won't be copied much. Otherwise, who'd really care...?
Now, I get to sound old and cranky. (because i AM old) (and cranky). surely you are not yet ready for this category-??

"Win" in that context means something like "capacity to win", "victory", "success", or "failure at failing".

Reading some of your comments on that blog post "How Racism and Sexism are Different", I've got to say that, in particular, the comment containing "I won't stoop to insults like your repeated Limbaugh reference, but you need to have reasons to reject my "givens" not just that you disagree with the conclusion. I've restrained myself from comparing the true believers in feminism with religion. They're both anti-science and entirely faith based, but I didn't want to go there." contained alarmingly high levels of win.

I sometimes like chat because if gives a faster reply to statements, however, my experience with the chat at Atheist Nation confirms the shallowness of the conversation.

Actually, I think I used the digital camcorder's still frame option for my pic. Did you see that they use a red/green 3D method for the DVD version of Coraline?

Do people even use a chat here? If so, where? I find the web-design a bit perturbing, not for your particular page, but for the overall structure. What do you think of my new pic?
