The cake really is a lie, and it makes me sad. I sadfaced for about an hour when I realized that the cake may not have ever existed in the first place.
Love your posts, Becky. You bring some fantastic scenarios. Some of them are so clever that I can't help smirking. Like your pen picture of the potential rapist and the potential victim with the gun. Nine minutes, nine months or your life?
It is much later here in Atlanta, but I am still awake, reading this site tonight that Richard told me about. With him in charge, this site is bound to become even better.
Hi Again Becky, Am I one of those you are pissed at? :) I really don't want to be, I believe the same things as you, I get angry at the same things as you, I've certainly seen more than my share of the effects of stereotyping.
I do believe though that it is important to be able to laugh at ones own deepest convictions - it's part of always questioning and evaluating things. I feel it is important never to allow oneself to slip into dogma, an unquestioning view that one has the absolute truth. Dogma is the preserve of our opponents after all *grin*
Anyway, I'd much rather be friends than opponents - we have far more in common than not :)
Hi Becky, I just posted a comment on "convert the women" thread under your "here we go again.." topic. If you would please read it and let me know what you think. I actually agree with you wholeheartedly in principal. but also choose to see humour in things when I can .... I know it's a dark world we live in, which is all the more reason to laugh at times :)
