Glad to hear things are going well for you! I've been kinda stressed lately, trying to find work and housing for after this month. :/ I'm getting to be a bit more of a drama queen than I care to admit, so I'm trying to at least get the housing thing figured out this week. It can only get better, right?
Hey, thanks for the group invite you sent a while back. I didn't mean to just ignore you. I think I'll pass on that for right now. I'm already in 27 groups, and I can't keep up now as it is. Good luck.
I've been busy with my job search. I'm sending out a lot of applications, currently just to places in WI. Glad to hear you've found another job! I haven't had a lot of time for CL lately, but part of that is because I'm hanging out here more often.
Hi Brian! Thanks for getting in touch. If you're looking to meet other like-minded people, you might like to attend one of our meetings at the Atheist Community Center (6514 SE Foster Rd) sometime. We meet every Tuesday night from 7:30-9. Next week is a showing of Religulous, but usually meetings consist of lively discussion. And treats ;)
Hi Brian, welcome! I think we're all here for the same reasons, to find out how many like-minded people there are out here. I just saw Bill Mahar's new movie "Religulous" last night and it was hysterical. If you haven't seen it yet, by all means check it out.
About my profile, this is my own self developed philosophy. I live truth and I never lie. I've found that this has given me much strength and the ability to tell when others are lying, although I've also studied psychology all my life.
I find the more I reach for truth and knowledge the more I gain an appreciation for the universe and the more I can see there is instant justice in the world.
I hop I've made a convert or at least someone who will consider my philosophy. No book needed, just a simple equation.
Hi Brian. Thanks for the add and welcome to A/N. I will definitely add that to my book recommendations. :). I've never liked evangelicals, atleast the ones I've seen on TV. ie, Manning is a pure bigot and his ministry is sickening.
Up until about two months ago there was an atheist meetup group here in Reno. I didn't make it to any meetings before the guy running it moved away and stopped. Meetup dot com wants actual money to arrange meetings through them, so it's no wonder no one else has taken up the reins on that one. If the timing is right I might make it to a meeting though, if there's enough interest in one around here.
