Hi, Richard. It took along time to find the roach story in my backup drive. It was intended to be a video, created with Poser. The learning curve was steep, and trying to create the room and objects with yet another program eventually defeated me. In order to send you the rough draft I'll need your email. If you want you can send it to me at ruthanthonygardner@yahoo.com or friend me to use a private message. I appreciate your curiosity.
Greetings, Richard! I noticed we're in a few groups together. I'm over 60 and a retired biology teacher too. I'd like to invite you to a group where we talk about anything on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D
Hi Rich
The Somalis who come to Canada seem to mostly enter on the east coast, not the west. The west coast has the Asian, South and Central American refugees and immigrants. I wouldn’t characterize them as any thing like the Spanish, as they don’t go around robbing and slaughtering people like the Spanish did.
As for staying out of jail, that’s not a problem. While I have a bad past, the cops out here have no problem with me, and the head cop waves to me when ever we pass. As well, I went through the rather lengthy procedure of obtaining my Canadian Firearms Purchase and Acquisition licence (PAL) for restricted and non-restricted firearms, this year. I had let my old one (called the Firearms Acquisition Certificate, or FAC) laps back in the 90's, because of the new law that allows them to enter at any time to check that all firearms are stored legally. If I hadn’t let my FAC laps, and converted it to a PAL, I would be licenced for prohibited firearms as well (.32 ACP pistols, short barreled pistols, large capacity mags, semi-auto Aks, etc.).+ To get the new PAL, I had to under go an investigation of my past, and questioning my friends, co-workers, and ex’s. For the cops out here though, it’s kind of silly, as they know dam well that every one, and their grandmother has unregistered guns (and yes, I do mean that quite literally)! In short, I’m not going to fuck that up.
As for your proposal for a bill to make political corruption a treasonous crime against the people a capital offense. We gave up capital punishment back in the 60's, and I would not like to see it back as the judicial system makes too many mistakes. Jailing them, and stripping them of their wealth, on the other hand, would be more correct. Having to start over from nothing might make them think twice, but I couldn’t see any politician going for it with out some loop holes.
Hi Rich
Things have been rather busy for me, so I haven't been on AN much.
The election of Naheed Nenshi as mayor of Calgary is actually a rather progressive thing for "Cowtown". Back in the 80's, the mayor was a former right-wing radio talk show host, who went on to become the Premier of the province - Ralph Klein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Klein). Ralphy was typical for Calgary - a loud mouthed, ignorant red neck. He made the city boom, by giving corporations tax breaks and very favorable business deals. The poor of the city paid for it, and were constantly presented as the scape goats for any, and every problem. During his tenure, the only help given to unemployed single people, who were ineligible for unemployment insurance, was a city run hostel. The city jail was a better place to be (my personal experience). To have Calgary elect a person of colour, and a non-Christian to boot, shows that it has finally grown up. Nenshi is still very pro-business, but at least he's not another fucking red neck!
Dear Richard, I wish you all the best of good fortune in the coming days as you face surgery in hospital following the accident. You appear very brave by writing your message as you did.
No, you surely won't lose Pascal's Wager, but if you did come across some cross-examining deity, perhaps you could answer like the philosopher Russell said he might: "God, why did you make it so hard for me to believe in you?".

Richard, thanks for your great comments on my profile!
I agree these bellicose religious bomb devotees need to take stock of reality.
I still don't see an Endmeme group. Did you change your mind?

It's worth some time even though it's about six videos long.
