Hi Ruth, thanks for your comment. I get where you're coming from but have some additional points for your consideration of the B word: 1) like has been done in the gay right movement, does itnot empower us to hijack and own these words? i also identify as queer and don't feel that is demeaning either, 2) considering how much i adore dogs and often consider them superior companions, i choose to consider it a compliment. i cannot control others, i can only control my reaction to them, and last but not least, 3) i don't really think i'm a bitch, it's just a play on words :)
I actually feel good and am a very positive person. My "dark side" miniatures stem originally from my chaotic life style and that I just hate seeing pretty, clean, sterile scenes. I am currently working on a building from Sweeney Todd! Loved the story, the film and the gore! lol Also have other things I am working on but nothing currently is finished. Don't worry, when I have the current work finished I will definitely be happy to share photos.
Hey Ruth! Thanks for the invite! Even in December I was not faithfully logging in. It's been awhile. The icon, however, is still on the tool bar, so to speak, so I'll join in. I've been on Facebook a lot just because it's the only way I can keep up with a few people from "the past". The problem with Facebook, though, is that one always ends up with 'friends' who make me rile up stuff! I've offended enough them; maybe it's time to chat with some people who actually feel the way I do. Good timing, too, actually, because I'm in the middle of a body of work (oil on canvas) called "Leviticus", which is a bit awkward when loved ones (decidedly misguided loved ones) ask me what I'm working on. So, as I finish each one, I'll post them - maybe that will start some conversations... In the meantime, I'll try to figure out how to post a few of my last body of work (Duets). Take a look and see what you think. Again, thanks for the invite!
Well thank you very much. I have to say, I joined just so I could read or comment on a particular article but the group has been most welcoming. I can't think of another group I have joined that has greeted me with so many warm welcomes. :-)
Well......being that I just joined the group, less than a month ago, I don't know what you mean by "it's been about 2 months and I don't see many new friends." Thanks for the recommendation, but I'm fine with my # of "friends."
Glad to hear from you. I really ought to contribute more, but I've been soooo busy at work and with my kids, getting ready for the end of the school year, my hubby's b-day, my son's birthday, you know the drill. :) I hope to be on line and chatting with you all soon!
Thanks for checking-in with me. I have been doing some work (gasp!) recently, and have had to curtail my online social contacts as a result. The good news is that we are finally getting a faster internet connection. Living the pastural life (not pastoral: ours involves pastures, not pastors) means long wires to anything. As of this weekend, we hope to be operating at somewhere close to cable connection speed. Cheers, I.
Thanks for the greeting, Ruth. I wish there were 199 hours in a day. Alas, I have no time for hanging out on the internetz. I run a non-profit arts org and am heavily engrossed in related tasks. Yrs in friendship, Carol
Hi! Thanks...I've been doing a lot of off-line reading, working on a part-time typing job, trying to get a couple of rescue cats back down here from Northern Calif (I can't drive up there myself, and there's NO commercial air transportation...)and just struggling to keep up with e-mail from personal friends. I also find myself fooling around on the ICHC web site wayyyyy too much. I think I need the LOLcats a lot since I don't have any of my own. Yet.
Thanks for asking. I'll try to check in here more often; I'll probably need some advice about new brands of food that are better for older cats than the supermarket brands. At the moment I just feel sort of brain-dead...happens sometimes.
Thank you Ruth! I'm currently in Spain finishing up my study abroad experience, and I only have one non-theistic friend here who I don't get to see much. As much as I love my friends who are theists it can be really hard to vent about stuff I hear about going on with fundamentalists and all, they just don't get it. How long ago did you join the site and what do you normally do here?
